Do You Know What an Adventure Elopement Is?

Have you heard of an adventure elopement? It’s where you go somewhere epic, somewhere that takes your breath away, & spend your fantasy day with your partner. You do all the things that are special to you two- jump off a cliff, swim in a lagoon, watch the sunset over a volcano, eat dinner prepared by a gourmet chef, share your favorite whiskey while watching the sunset, listen to your favorite band play for just the two of you and a few of your closest friends- wait. Yes, I wrote that right.

See an elopement is a couple making a promise to do life together in a more intimate and personal setting. Whether an hour or day, it’s is focused around the vows, love & commitment of your partnership. Versus in larger more traditional weddings the focus is broadened to contain a myriad of your other relationships & how your partnership fits into them, and hopefully strengthens them, and vice versa. Neither is wrong of right, they just meet different needs. Just because you choose to elope doesn’t mean you can’t bring your best friends, or a few family members along. It just means that the focus is still going to remain on the two of you, which means it will likely be a smaller occasion. If you have a wedding with 200 guests, and spend 5 min greeting 2 of them at a time, it will take over 8 hours! It can be really tricky to focus on just the two of you when you are hosting so many friends and family. Some couples choose to elope and then have a party later to include all of their loved ones.

Back to adventure eloping. Lets explore what an adventure elopement in Western North Carolina can look like. Carson & Cameron are getting married on April 14th at Max Patch. They have rented an a beautiful AirBNB cabin beside a little brook in Hot Springs, NC. There are a plethora of beautiful trails that they will be exploring before and after the big day, and they plan on taking advantage of the natural hot springs the day after “the big day.” Just the two of them soaking & spending time together. Now on the actual elopement day we’ve created a timeline that fits their dreams & values:

1:00pm Hair & Makeup artists will arrive to help them feel & look their best.

2:00pm Portraits with a few of their closest friends, siblings & parents.

3:00pm First look. (Friends & family have appointments to visit the hot springs.)

4:00pm Drive around, explore, have fun & take photos.

5:00pm Arrive & Hike Up to Max Patch- Vows & Bubbly.

6:00pm Couples have alone time. Band begins setting up. Gourmet chef and catering team arrives to set up an intimate picnic. Friends & family head to Max Patch.

7:00pm A bonfire is built. Toasts to the happy couple, a first dance, general dancing, eating & relaxing.

10:00 Sparkler’s and the singing of friends and family send them off on their honeymoon.
